Scheldestroom NV has operated water and district-heating networks on behalf of municipalities across the Antwerpen region since 1974. The group maintains roughly 1,800 kilometres of water mains and 210 kilometres of district-heating pipework, serving close to 40 municipal clients under long-term concession contracts. A 24/7 control room in Antwerpen monitors both networks, dispatching field crews the moment a pressure drop or leak alarm comes in. The group employs around 750 people: control-room operators working a rotating shift pattern, field technicians assigned to one of six regional depots, treatment-plant operators, and a planning and engineering team that manages network expansion and renewal. Field and plant staff hold VCA safety certification, and the control room operates to ISO 9001 process standards across both the water and heating divisions.
